Despite rapid growth, internet coupons still account for only 1% of distribution. The majority of overall growth in redemptions still come from free-standing print inserts, which accounted for more than 2.1 billion redemptions overall last year, according to NCH data via AdAge. Paper coupon redemption rises 23% in 2009, which is it’s first gain in seventeen years, and it’s up this year as well.
There’s lots of room for growth here in an industry that is still growing against all odds.
